Linda Anne Watson Thomas, 70, died on Monday, October 30, 2023, at her home in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she lived for the past 20 years.
Born May 27, 1953, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, Linda was the second of two girls of the late Alva D. and Eleanor Cross Watson. She was the granddaughter of the late Bud and Bessie Watson, Walsh, CO and the late Clarence and Helen Cross, Lewis, KS.
Linda grew up on a farm in Fort Morgan, CO and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1971 and attended nursing school at St. Anthony's hospital where she received her license as an (LPN). In her early years she enjoyed helping on the farm and her love of animals was infectious. She always had a kitten or dog in a baby buggy, and she also had a Shetland pony.
Linda began piano at an early age and played bass cello in the high school band. She also played piano for Adena Sunday School. In the last thirty years Linda loved spending many hours honing her skill and playing the piano.
Following nursing school, Linda worked as an LPN for St. Anthony's hospital. Early on in her career, she also worked in real estate and worked for Met Life. However, her true passion was nursing and loved taking care of others. She was an excellent caretaker.
Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and loved watching Hallmark movies. She was a woman of faith and would read the bible often.
Linda always stayed in touch with family with each call or visit full of discussion of the latest news, catching up on the latest family events, and lots of laughs.
Linda and her family also lived in Denver, CO, Round Rock, Texas and Lincoln, NE.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and great aunt. Linda is survived by her husband Jamie Thomas of 40 years and her son James Thomas Junior; as well as one sister, Sharon L. Glatfelter and husband, Thomas A., Centennial, CO and their three children and their spouses and their six grandchildren. Contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, where she was a member.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 29th at 1:00 PM at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
