Obituary

Lionel E. Ward, 60, longtime area resident, died Friday, February 16, 2007 at his home in Ft. Morgan. He was born February 4, 1947 in Hurricane, West Virginia to Richard and Dorothy (Gibson) Ward. He married Carol L. Adams on June 27, 1968 in Riverton, Wyoming. They moved to Ft. Morgan in 1975. Lionel was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ft. Morgan. He was also a life member of Disabled American Veterans and member of the Association of the United States Army. He enjoyed working on his computer, woodworking, gardening and music. He loved to read, especially the Bible, poems and any kind of map he could get his hands on. Survivors include his wife Carol of Ft. Morgan, two daughters, Kimberly Ward and Heather Ward both of Ft. Morgan, two brothers, James Neal of St. Joseph, Missouri and Randall Qualls of Middleburg, Florida, four sisters, Dara Oneda Farhner of Appleton City, Missouri, Denise Kathleen Farley and Regina Diane Parsons both of Hurricane, West Virginia and Teresa Ann Rice of Kansas City, Missouri He was preceded in death by his parents, and his aunt and uncle, William and Juanita Davis who helped raise him after his mother died when he was still living at home. Memorial Services will be Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church in Ft. Morgan. Memorial gifts can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church in Ft. Morgan. Inurnment will be in Ft. Logan National Cemetery at a later date. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
