Lois Irene Forbes, 88, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013, surrounded by her loving family following a short illness. Lois was born in Pattensburg, Missouri on March 21, 1925, to Earl and Viola (Davis) Vanover. She moved to Morgan County with her family in 1933. On July 4, 1943 she married her husband Cecil Forbes in Brush. Lois worked as a beautician for several years before retirement. Lois was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Silver Notes Band, AARP, and Fort Morgan Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, fishing, cooking, especially making pies, but most of all she enjoyed being around her family. She is survived by her two children, Raymond Forbes of Bar Nunn, WY and Etavon Ochs of Fort Morgan; 8 grandchildren; Janet Nelson, Shelly Ruth, Gina Sowerwine, Angie Foley, Lynda Hughes, Teresa Mallory, Sheila Rehn, and Barbie Larsen; 19 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her husband and parents, Earl Vanover and Viola Thompson. A funeral service will be Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00PM at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.
