Lois Virginia Kembel, 83, lifelong resident of Morgan County, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. She was born January 3, 1928, in Fort Morgan to Albert & Eva Nichols. After graduating from Fort Morgan High School, Lois attended and graduated from Colorado State Teacher College, now University of North Colorado. She taught at the Mountain View School south of Fort Morgan. On June 5, 1949, Lois married Elmer Kembel in Fort Morgan. The Kembel family farmed northeast of Fort Morgan. Lois was an active, charter member of Grace Bible Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and an Awana Club leader. Lois loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her Savior, with all her heart. Her life's desire was to pass on her faith to future generations. She enjoyed reading her Bible every day, was an avid prayer warrior for her family and others, enjoyed cooking and collecting dolls. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Elmer of Brush; her children, Cary, and his wife Patricia of Snyder; Janice Brandt, and her husband Steve of Keenesburg; David, and his wife Cheryl, of Akron; Scott, and his wife Joyce and Wendy Kroskob, and her husband Jeff all of Brush; 2 sisters, Betty Schreiner of Fort Morgan and Jean Davis of Greeley; 14 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, Amberly Kroskob; 1 sister, Audrey, 3 brothers, Duane, Cecil, and Don; and her parents. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 10:30 AM at the Grace Bible Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday October 12, 2011 from 3 – 6 PM. at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan.
