LOLA MAE PETERSON, 71, of Snyder, died Saturday afternoon, May 26, 2007 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born January 17, 1936 in San Diego, CA to Henry Blair & Irene Daisy (McComas) Cooper. She married Eric Peterson on November 6, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. & Mrs. Peterson moved to Snyder from San Diego five years ago. Mrs. Peterson was a Bookkeeper for several construction companies throughout her working career. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her grandchildren, and bowling. She enjoyed baseball, especially the San Diego Padres. Mrs. Peterson worked hard to maintain a nice home and she especially enjoyed her pets. Survivors include her husband, Eric Peterson of Snyder; one son, Gary Fitzsimons of Sumas, WA; two daughters, Sherrie L. Smith of Carlsbad, CA, and Karen Whitfield of San Diego, CA; one stepson, Eric Peterson of San Diego, CA; two stepdaughters, Diane Peterson of Davis, CA and Denise Gaines of San Diego, CA; one sister, Iola "Jane" Torre of San Diego, CA, and 13 grandchildren. Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Armand Cooper; two sisters, Violet Succetti and Viola Tracy; and her second husband, Carlton James. A memorial service will be Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 222 Cameron Street, Brush, CO. Services will conclude at the chapel. Friends may make memorial donations to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
