Lola J. Sharp, 87, life resident of the Brush and Woodrow communities, passed away Friday, December 09, 2011, at the Valley View Villa Nursing Home in Fort Morgan. She was born October 15, 1924, in Brush, to Alfred & Emma Sandoz. Lola married Dayton Sharp on September 19, 1945, in Great Bend, KS. Following Dayton's discharge from the US Army Air Corp the Sharp family moved to the family farm in Washington County. Lola was a great supporter of the 4-H program, the Washington County fair, was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren and the Woodlin School activities. She enjoyed sewing, and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church in Last Chance. Survivors include her children, Linda Garland, and her husband Mike of Aurora, and their children Matthew Garland and Kirstie Rivard; Kay Schreiber, and her husband Gerald of Last Chance, and their daughter Robin Price; Tim Sharp, and his wife Patricia of Woodrow, and their children Sara Rushman and Kari Blair; and Kathy Culbertson and her husband J.W. of Parker, CO; 1 brother, Sam Sandoz of Brush; 3 sisters, Lorena Wertz of Greeley, Betty Wertz of Evans, and Dorothy Rundle of San Diego, CA, and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 grandson, Gabe Schreiber; 1 sister, Ilene Milburn; and 2 brothers, Bud Sandoz and Oliver Sandoz; and her parents. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church, 1701 Edmunds Street in Brush. Interment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Howard United Methodist Church in Last Chance.
