Loris "Sonny" Dean Alexander, 80, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.

He was born on October 1, 1935 in Yuma, CO. Sonny lived on a farm in Yuma until he graduated 8th grade. He later served as a cook in the Army for 26 years. He graduated from gourmet school during this time and also worked at many numerous profound jobs. He also worked at Caring Ministries from the time they opened until 2011. Sonny loved fishing, crafts, children and helping others.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Alexander of Fort Morgan; 2 sisters, Helen and Betty of Denver; his stepchildren, James Bernhardt of Minnesota, Shawn Bernhardt of Oregon, Allen Pilard of Missouri, Tamalina Russell of Fort Morgan, Paul Bernhardt of Fort Morgan, Troy Pilard of Alabama, LeAnn Vic of Fort Morgan, Virginia Sebastian of Fort Morgan; 29 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; 3 brothers, two sisters, and his step daughter, Katrina Glover.

Visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2016 from 4-6 PM at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the First Christian Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
