E. Loron Cooper, 85, of Brush, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the Cedar Care Center in Lakewood, CO. He was born January 26, 1923, in Hutchinson, KS, to Eldin & Kathyren Cooper. On October 24, 1954, Loron married Dorothy Krueger in Brush. Loron graduated from Lindsborg College with his bachelor's degree. He continued at the University of Colorado in his post graduate studies. Prior to retirement, Loron had worked for Western Airlines, was a high school band teacher for 26 years, and was the former owner of the Liquor Mart in Brush. He taught music education in Bucklin, KS from 1961 – 1969. In 1967 the band that Loron directed was invited to participate in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA. He taught music education at Wauneta, NE, High School from 1970 – 1983. The Cooper's moved to Brush since 1983. Loron was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a former member of the Rotary Club in Brush. He enjoyed played cards with family and friends. He especially enjoyed taking cruises with his wife. He loved Sousa band music, semi-classical music and listening to big band music. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Brush; 2 children, Scott, and his wife, Maryann, of Arvada, and Darlene Gjovik, and her husband, Jay, of Scottsbluff, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church 603 Custer Street in Brush on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 11:00 AM. The service will conclude at the church. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush
