Louise Katherine Lapp, 99, of Wiggins, Colo., passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Evans, Colorado Beehive Assisted Living Center surrounded by her family. Louise was born on February 11, 1912 in West Point Nebraska to Henry Stratman and Katherine(Uhing) Stratman. The family moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1929 and farmed east of Loveland. On February 27, 1933 she married Jacob Lapp Jr. in Loveland. After the marriage the couple worked on various farms in Weld County. Louise and Jake and their three girls moved to the Wiggins area in 1947, where they farmed until Jake's death on February 21, 2004. Louise stayed on the farm until August of 2005 when she moved to Greeley. Louise was an avid professional wrestling fan, attending performances in Denver with Jake whenever she could. Louise loved to crochet and made many afghans for her family and friends. Louise's delicious cabbage pockets were a favorite of her family. Survivors include her daughters, Norma Ewertz of Wiggins, Elaine McDowell and husband Bob of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Ron Graff, Esther Lingo, Susie Bostron, Larry Graff, Cindy Allee, Randy Ewertz, Wayne Ewertz, Joe Ewertz, Rita Farahmandifard, Sherrie Vance, Jennifer Moreno, Doug Case and Charles Case, 31 great grandchildren, and 31 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving her is her brother, Albert Stratman of Phoenix, AZ. Also mourning her passing are her good friends at the Beehive Assisted Living Center; Alisha, Jo Ann, Millicent, Vera, Anne, Elsie, Harriet, Rachel, and Shirley and her loving and caring staff at the Beehive. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob, her daughter Mary Lou Graff; two son-in-laws, Paul Graff and Arthur Ewertz, 1 great-great grandson, her parents, eight sisters and four brothers. At Louise request there will be a private family memorial service and cremation has taken place. Friends and family wishing to honor the memory of Louise with a gift are encouraged to contribute to Front Range Hospice or the Beehive #2 Assisted Living Center, in care of the Heer & Dahl Mortuary.
