Luann Anderson, 67, former Fort Morgan resident, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Avamere Hospice Facility in Brighton, CO. She was born April 19, 1948, in Cheyenne, WY, to Hans & Hallene (Upp) Peters.
Luann grew up on a ranch near Hereford, CO and graduated from Grover High School and Bernel Hair Styling College in Fort Collins. She spent her childhood outside ranching, horseback riding, and fishing the ranch creek with her Father.
Luann was the valedictorian of her high school class and later married Bill Anderson (the class salutatorian) on December 27, 1967, in Grover, CO. The Anderson family lived in Fort Morgan for 45 years. While living in Fort Morgan Luann worked as a homemaker, beautician, clerk at various retail businesses, and ended her working career as a payroll processor at her husband's accounting firm.
Luann was a member of the United Presbyterian Church where she had served as an elder and a deacon. She was also a member of PEO Chapter "EG" and the Hyperion Club. She was active with the Morgan County Christian Women's Club when they were active. She loved to go shopping, enjoyed reading and playing golf. She also liked to travel and spend time at their family condo in Estes Park. Her favorite activity was spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Survivors include her husband, Bill of Thornton; 2 children, Brian (Lisa) Anderson of Chesterfield, MO and Angela (Jay) Caudill of Westminster, CO; 4 grandchildren, Mackenzie & Marley Anderson and Tristan & Gretchen Caudill; and 1 brother, John Peters of Hereford, CO. She was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Peters and her parents.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 4, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Private inurnment will be in Serenity Falls Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial gifts to the Fort Morgan Heritage Foundation, PEO Cottey College Foundation, or to the United Presbyterian Church all c/o the Heer Mortuary.Monday
