Lucille Eleanor Schlothauer 86, life long Morgan County resident, died Friday at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. She was born October 19, 1919 in Brush, to Jacob J. and Mollie Lebsock. She worked with her family on the farm until she started working for the telephone company as a switchboard operator, and later as a nurse for the Ft. Morgan Hospital on State street. She married Carl Schlothauer on July 10, 1943 in Ft. Morgan. They worked together on the farm and both supported the 4-H programs and the Fort Morgan Community Hospital. In 2001 Carl and Lucille were awarded the Watrous Outstanding Pioneer Award at the Brush Rodeo. Lucille showed a tremendous strength in taking care of her son, Jerry, who had polio at the age of four. She encouraged him to overcome barriers and to help others achieve their highest potential. She was a member of the Christ Congregational Church. She is survived by her children Steven Schlothauer of Ft. Morgan, her daughter Caryl Nicholson of Morrison, 3 sisters, Irene Weimer of Greeley, Ruth Ware of Billings, Montana, and Elmira Weimer of Aurora, and 2 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl, her son, Jerry, 4 brothers,Edward Lebsock, Clarence Lebsock, Albert Lebsock, and Leroy Lebsock, and her parents. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Christ Congregational Church, Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Ft, Morgan.
