Luis C. Vazquez, 55, former Fort Morgan Police Department Officer, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood after suffering a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm a few days earlier. He was born January 14, 1961, in Brooklyn, NY.

Following his honorable discharge from the US Army, Luis began his career in law enforcement. He loved his job as a police officer.

Luis was a 32 degree Mason and was a member of the El Paso County Masonic Lodge AF & AM and the Southern Colorado Consistory.

Survivors include his 2 daughters, Louise & Samantha; his Father, William Fernandez; his sister, Angela Sorio and 4 brothers, Willie, Jesus, Enrique, and Rafael.

Funeral services will be at the Immanuel Evangelical Church on Wednesday at 2:00 PM. The service will conclude at the church. Inurnment will be in the Fort Logan National Cemetery on Thursday at 1:30 PM Staging area B. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan on Tuesday from 4 – 6 PM.
