Lydia Bostron, lifelong Fort Morgan resident passed away August 26, 2015 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Mullen, NE. She was born in Fort Morgan on March 12, 1922 to George and Anna (Sagel) Schmick. On November 18, 1941 she married John Harold Bostron in Fort Morgan. They farmed and ran a dairy for several years until Harold's death in 1979. Lydia worked 18 years as a security guard at the Fort Morgan High School. She was a care giver to all. She loved the yard and garden... always full of beautiful flowers. She also loved cooking and going to garage sales. Survivors include her son, Larry (Peggy) Bostron of Mullen, NE; her daughter, Jannifer (Tommy) Rhodes of Summerdale, AL; three grandchildren, Lynnette (Bryan) Crisp, Brenda (Tod) Shepherd, and Juliette Rhodes; four great grandchildren, Tanner (Katie) Crisp, Lauren (Cody) Hollenbeck, Ryan Shepherd and Landon Shepherd; one great-great grandchild, Riggin Hollenbeck; her sister, Marion Brozovich of Denver, CO; two brothers, Henry (Reta) Schmick of Greeley, CO, and Samuel (Dorthy) Schmick of Northglenn, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna ( Sagel) Schmick; stepfather, Gottlieb Loos; her husband, Harold Bostron; her brother, Abraham Schmick; and three sisters, Hannah Hughes, Katie Schmick, and Martha Bauer. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 29th at 10:00 A.M. at The Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan, CO. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be given to The Christ Congregational Church in Fort Morgan or to the charity of the donor's choice. The Heer Mortuary of Fort Morgan is entrusted with the arrangements.
