Obituary

Lydia Bruntz, 100, longtime area resident, died Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan.

She was born January 16, 1918 in Greeley to Conrad and Mary (Block) Kauffman.

Lydia married Adam Bruntz Jr. in Greeley. They moved to Wiggins in 1943 where they farmed. Lydia was a cook in the Wiggins Public School system for 16 years and was a member of the Wiggins Community Church.

She was an excellent cook and loved family dinners where she would cook all their favorite German dishes including, everyone's favorite chicken noodle soup with butterballs.

Lydia enjoyed sewing, crocheting and embroidery work, most crafts, and making sure every newborn grand-baby got a special blanket. She also liked to play cards and put jigsaw puzzles together.

Lydia loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include, her daughter, Barbara Gahagen of Strasburg, sons, Bill Bruntz (Ruth Ann) of Fort Morgan, and Bob Bruntz (SuzAnne) of Alliance, Nebraska, 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Lydia was preceded in death by her husband Adam, sons, Duane and Larry, infant daughter Betty Ann, granddaughter, Chris, and great granddaughters, Leah and Ava.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
