Lydia Cook, 85, life long Morgan County resident, died Saturday morning at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born July 17, 1923 in Brush, to Conrad and Anna Leis. She married Raymond Cook May 22, 1941.They lived and farmed south of Ft. Morgan until Raymond passed away in 1992. She was a member of the Christ Congregational Church in Ft. Morgan. She enjoyed playing Pinochle, taking care of her home, collecting angels and birds, and farming with her husband. She is survived by her grandchildren, Brenda Griffith and husband Chad of Brush, Paul Cook and wife Terri of Greeley, Russell Cook of Firestone and Lydia Marie Forrester of Minnesota, 6 great grandchildren, her sisters, Pearl Holmes of Brush, and Elvina Evans of Arvada, and 1 brother Clarence Leis of Brush. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her son Kenneth Cook, an infant sister Lydia Cook, sisters Ruth Nuss, and Leah Mohrlang, brothers Fred, Adolf, Herbert, Dave, Shorty, and Paul, and 1 grandson Kenneth Ray Cook Jr. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-6pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
