Lydia Lage, 92, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away early Sunday morning at the Washington County Nursing Home in Akron, CO. Lydia was born April 24, 1914, in Sheboygan, WI, to Jacob & Amelia Kosman. The Kosman family moved to Morgan County when Lydia was a small child. On March 30, 1936, she married Bernhard Lage in Greeley, CO. Bernhard died in 1965. After his death, Lydia began working at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush where she worked until retiring in 1982. Lydia lived at Centennial Manor in Brush from 1977 until 2005 when she moved to the Washington County Nursing Home in Akron to be closer to her daughters. She enjoyed volunteering her time with AARP and the American Red Cross Gray Ladies. She especially enjoyed helping at the Meet 'n Eat at Centennial Manor. Survivors include her 2 daughters, Betty Kelly and Shirley Hafer both of Akron, CO; 2 sons, Everett of Sharon Springs, KS, and Leonard "Butch" of Grand Junction; 2 brothers, John Kosman of Kansas City, MO, and Everett Kosman of El Cajon, CA; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great – great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters, Marie & Wilma, 2 brothers, Henry & Jake, and her parents. Funeral services will be at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church603 Custer Street in Brush on Wednesday, December 10, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday from 2 – 5 PM.. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
