Lydia Meyer, 91, lifelong Ft. Morgan resident, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Lydia was born September 17, 1916 in Ft. Morgan to Fred and Marie (Kembel) Weimer. She married Alex Meyer on March 29, 1936 in Ft. Morgan. Lydia was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Evangelical Church where she was actively involved in most of the church's ministries. Before her husband died they participated in several short term mission projects. She liked to read, sew, cook and work in her garden. In her later years she enjoyed painting and making floral arrangements. Survivors include three sons, Donald Meyer of Wilkinson, Indiana, Robert Meyer of Parker and Alan Meyer of Ft. Morgan, five daughters, Maryann Sergeant of Hanford, California, Janet Foos of Wheaton, Illinois, Linda Mekelburg of Forrest City, Iowa, Diana Beisel of Fargo, Oklahoma and Debra Lotts of LaVeta, Colorado, Three brothers, Sam Weimer of Brush, Harry and Reinhart Weimer both of Ft. Morgan, two sisters, Caroline Brown of Washington D.C. and Ruth Anderson of San Diego, California, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alex, grandson, Nathan Beisel, two brothers, Fred and Rueben Weimer and two sisters, Marie Weimer and Martha Stark. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
