Lydia Reidle, 97, long time Brush area resident died Monday morning at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born March 8, 1914 in Brush to John J. and Marie Koehler. She married Alex Reidle on January 1, 1932 in Hillrose. They farmed near Hillrose for many years. They moved to Brush when Alex retired from farming. She was the head cook for the Hillrose schools and cooked for the Crains Café and for Drovers Restaurant for many years. She also enjoyed helping out at the Morgan County Raceway on race nights. She was confirmed in the Immanuel Congregational Church and enjoyed being involved in the church groups. Lydia was an "adopted grandparent" and was very active in reading to the children in the Head Start Program. She is survived by her children, Donald Reidle of Farmington, NM, Dora Stickley of Ft. Morgan and Susan Weimer of Brush; two brothers, Harold Koehler of Colorado Springs, and Kenneth Koehler of Arvada; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex; one grandson, Kirk Weimer; three sisters, Esther Scheideman, Elsie Schantz, and Alma Dodge; three brothers, Ben, Victor and Edward Koehler, and her parents. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:30 pm at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
