LYDIA SCHLOTHAUER, 87, lifelong Fort Morgan resident, died Wednesday afternoon at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. She was born April 7, 1921 in Fort Morgan to Peter & Marie (Sagel) Ruhl. She married Henry Schlothauer on March 28, 1943. Lydia worked as a riveter at Boeing Aircraft in Washington during WW II. She was also a clerk at the Duckwall Store in Fort Morgan for a number of years. Mrs. Schlothauer was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan. She enjoyed crocheting, needle work, and going for walks. Survivors include her husband, Henry Schlothauer of Fort Morgan; her son, Richard Schlothauer of Lakewood, CA; four sisters, Emma Schlothauer and Ruth Brandt, both of Fort Morgan, Virginia Schimpf of Falcon, CO, and Wilma Moore or Parachute, CO; three brothers, Pete Ruhl and Wilbert Ruhl, both of Fort Morgan, and Donald "Chic" Ruhl of Brush. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Mary. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Evangelical Church. The Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
