Lyle William Thomas, 74, lifelong area resident, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Mountain Vista Care Center in Wheatridge, CO. Lyle was born December 31, 1940 in Brush to Frank and Myrtle (Connor) Thomas. Lyle was raised by his step-father Fred Ward, after his father died when he was very young. He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Brush. Lyle graduated from Fort Morgan High School where he lettered in baseball. After high school he played city league softball for a time. Lyle was a surveyor's assistant for most of his working career. In his younger years he enjoyed attending most of the local high school sporting events. Survivors include his sister, Shirley Griffin of Fort Collins, nine nephews, and nine nieces. Lyle was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Nelson, Marvin Nelson, Elmer Thomas, and Floyd Thomas, sisters, Doris Anderson, and infant sister, Maxine Thomas, step-brothers, Dwight Goldsberry, and Wayne Goldsberry, and his parents. Graveside Memorial Services will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Brush Memorial Cemetery in Brush. Memorial Gifts may be made to the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Brush.
