Mabel M. Marble, 94, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007, at the Englewood Meridian Care Center in Englewood, CO. She was born on the family farm northwest of Brush on July 28, 1912, to Frank & Clara Schwanke. She was baptized September 8, 1912, and confirmed April 10, 1927, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. She attended, and graduated from 8th grade at Morey school in 1926. She attended and graduated from Brush High School in 1930. On April 8, 1934, Mabel married Gordon K. Marble in Brush Mabel was a member of the Morey PTC, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, BLCW, Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center Auxiliary, EMCH Auxiliary, and was a 4-H leader for a number of years. Survivors include her children, Kenneth Marble and Carol Houck both of Denver; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, Lawrence Schwanke; 2 sisters, Agnes Honebein, and Elsie Schwanke, and her parents. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at 10:30 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 603 Custer Street in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary on Tuesday from 1:30 – 5 PM.
