Obituary

Mabel Louise Shaver, 68 Lifelong area resident died Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Valley Villa Care Center in Ft. Morgan. She was born September 4, 1939 in Lisco, Nebraska to James and Christy (Sager) Walker. Mabel was a member of the Home Circle Club in Hoyt and the Red Hat Club. She was also a member of the Brush Rodeo Association for several years. Mabel enjoyed sewing and various crafts including painting and liked to listen to music and sing. She contributed yearly to the Disabled Veterans organization. Mabel loved her family and they were very important to her. Survivors include one son, Gerald Shaver and wife Charlene of Wiggins, two daughters, Roberta Smart and husband Brad of Weldona and Tammy Tyler of Ft. Morgan, two brothers, Bill Walker of Brush and Butch Crandall of Kersey, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Betty Wilson and two brothers, James and Larry Walker. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2nd from 5 until 7 PM and Wednesday October 3rd from 9:00 AM until at 10:00 AM. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Hoyt Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts in Mabel's name in care of the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary.
