MAGGIE A. VILLARREAL, 78, Lifelong area resident, died Monday evening, Dec. 4, 2006 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born Dec. 22, 1927 in Denver, CO to Romeo & Felipa (Campos) Acosta. She married John Villarreal on Apr. 24, 1954 in Hillrose. Mrs. Villarreal worked as a school cook for the Hillrose Elementary School and later worked as a Paraprofessional for Title One BOCES, which she did for 17 years before her retirement. Mrs. Villarreal was a member of the old Hillrose United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful cook, an avid reader, and a Bronco fan. She liked to crochet and especially enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling. She and her husband made several trips to Lake McConaughy in Nebraska with their fifth-wheel and boat. Survivors include her husband John Villarreal of Hillrose, two daughters; Susanne Villarreal and Lydia Pyle, both of Greeley, CO, two sons; Charles Villarreal and Phillip Villarreal, both of Dix, NE, one sister; Concha Robles of Denver, CO, two brothers; Manuel Acosta of Longmont, CO and Albert Acosta of Northglenn, CO; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Chone Acosta and Paul Acosta, and three sisters; Inez Jimenez, Dora Trujillo, and Lucy Torrez. A memorial service will be Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 222 Cameron St., Brush. Inurnment will follow in the Columbine Columbarium in Brush. There has been cremation. Friends may make memorials in Villarreal's name in care of the Heer Mortuary. The Heer Mortuary & Crematory in Brush is in charge of arrangements.
