Memorial services for Manuel "Manny" Hernandez, 66, will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 6 p.m. with Reverend Philip Major officiating. The funeral service will be held at St. Charles Episcopal Church in Ft. Morgan, Colorado, on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Brush Memorial Cemetery in Brush, Colorado, on Tuesday, October 9, following the Ft. Morgan service. Manuel passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Central Wyoming Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Donations can be made to Central Wyoming Hospice in Manuel Hernandez's name. He was born to Ysmael and Josephine (Zapata) Hernandez in Brush, Colorado, on September 3, 1946. He enlisted into the Army in 1966 and was discharged in 1968. After his honorable discharge, he met and married Lena Schlegel in Greeley, Colorado. To this union, they had three sons and a daughter. Manuel worked as a driller for Exeter Drilling in the '70s. The family moved to Casper in 1979 from Ft. Morgan to pursue his own business for M & R Hotshot Services. In May of 1990, he worked for Sivalls Inc. building oilfield equipment, where he worked until his retirement in 2010. He was a very hard worker and he enjoyed many activities such as fishing, working on cars, billiards, and spending time with family and friends. Manuel is survived by Lena Hernandez; sons, Clint and Daniel Hernandez; grandchildren, Isabel, Jacob, Veronica, Kiera, and Aubreana Hernandez, Alex and Brandon Warne; two brothers, Richard and Charles Hernandez; and one sister, Mini Amador. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Steven and David Hernandez; sister, Helen Murillo; cherished daughter, Angela Hernandez-Warne, and one infant son, Michael Hernandez.
