Marcella E. Wirth, 65, of New Raymer, died April 6, 2007 in Sterling, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held on Monday April 9, 2007 from 5-8 pm at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm also at the Chapel, Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Wirth was born on April 12, 1941 at the family home in New Raymer to Glenn A. and Viola (Knoll) Bringelson. She graduated from New Raymer High School and Northeastern Jr. College in Sterling. She also attended Colorado State University. On August 20, 1961, she married Gene Wirth. They were married for 45 years. She was a long time member of the Cherry Lot and Thimble Clubs in the Peace Valley community. She also belonged to Pinochle and 500 Card Clubs. Mrs. Wirth was a member of the Church of Christ in Ft. Morgan. Until recently, she wrote the Peace Valley News published in the Fort Morgan Times. She enjoyed Bible studies, quilting, collecting recipes, reading, and family. From the age of 13, Marcella corresponded with a pen pal, June Abbott from New Zealand. Through the years it flourished into a life long friendship. Marcella and Gene visited New Zealand in 1983. June and her husband Ivan also had the opportunity to visit when they came to the United States. Mrs. Wirth is survived by her husband Gene, daughter Adrianne and husband Rick Yost of Sterling, daughter Luella and husband Rod Thiessen of Padroni; and son Curt and wife Tina Wirth of New Raymer, grandchildren Casey, Jenni and Megan Yost, Justine, Jacob and Daniel Thiessen, Kathryn and Gus Wirth, great grandchildren Joey Korte and MaKenna Yost, two sisters Phyllis Jones and Illene and husband Stan Kaiser. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Jim Jones.
