Margaret M. Andersen, 85, lifelong resident of Brush, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. She was born February 3, 1922, in Brush, to John & Oline Jensen. She graduated from Brush High School in 1939. On November 14, 1943, Margaret married Alvan Andersen in Brush. The Andersen family farmed SW of Brush after WW II, raising their 4 children on the family farm. Margaret was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, volunteering for various committees, chairing committees, and serving as President of the church women's group several times. She had worked as a nurse's aide at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center for over 18 years. She was an avid reader, loved watching old movies and doing embroidery handwork. She stayed active and volunteered at Eben Ezer while she was able. Her children and grandchildren brought her the most joy. Survivors include her children, Ellen Hutton, and her husband, Ron, of Aliso Viejo, CA, Larry Andersen, and his wife, Emily, of Brush, Jan Frausel and her husband Lee and Arne Andersen, and his life partner, Ron Montoya, all of Fort Collins; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Alvan, 1 sister, 6 brothers, and her parents. A celebration of Margaret's life will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 603 Custer Street in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary in Brush on Tuesday from 4 – 7 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.
