Maria Elena Chuc Barreno, 47, longtime area resident, passed away, Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her home in Fort Morgan.

She was born, August 21, 1971 in Guatemala to Miguel and Juliana (Barreno) Chuc.

Maria was a member of and taught Sunday School at the Iglesia de Cristo Nuevo Amanecer in Fort Morgan. She enjoyed dining out, her family, including nieces and nephews, and traveling to Guatemala to visit her parents.

Maria is survived by her parents, Miguel Chuc and Juliana Barreno who live in Guatemala, daughter Lisseth Chuc of Fort Morgan, brothers and sisters, Max Chuc of Guatemala, Antonia Vincente Chuc of Fort Morgan, Julia Perez Chuc of Denver and Miguel Chuc of Fort Morgan.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 5 until 7 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.

Funeral Services will be Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:00 am at Christ's Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
