Maria Guadalupe Ortiz, 55, longtime area resident, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

Maria was born September 3, 1960 in Jalisco, Mexico to Tagrino and Maria (Munoz) Madera.

She married Abel Ortiz.

Maria was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan.

She enjoyed cooking, she was a good cook, taking long walks and going to church.

Survivors include her husband Abel of Fort Morgan, daughters, Modesta Ortiz, and Mabel Ortiz both of Fort Morgan, siblings, Gamaiel Banulos of Denver and Manuel Banulos, who lives in Mexico, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Abel Ortiz and her parents.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 2:00 until 6:00 PM followed by a Rosary Vigil that will start at 6:00 PM both at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow the mass in Memory Gardens.
