Maria E.
Rodriguez
Apr 10, 1915 — Dec 12, 2021
Denver City
Maria Esiquiel Rodriguez, at the age of 106, entered into her eternal glory in Denver City, Texas on December 12, 2021. She was born in San Marcos, Texas on April 10, 1915, to Roque and Jesusa (De La Rosa) Sanchez.
Maria married her first husband, Carlos Moya, with whom she had nine children (two of whom died in infancy). Several years after Carlos passed away, she married Donaciano Rodriguez. They raised their blended family of eleven children in Texas until moving to Fort Morgan, Colorado in 1970.
Maria was a stay-at-home mom who dedicated her life to raising her family. She loved her God, going to church, cooking, sewing and crocheting, crafting (especially making dolls), and her rose bushes. She attributed her longevity and health to all the chile she ate (the hotter the better) and she loved ice cream, too.
She is survived by sons, Jesus (Frances) Moya, Carlos Moya, Robert (Sofia) Rodriguez, Reynaldo (Olivia) Rodriguez, Reymundo (Adella) Rodriguez, Ramon (Alicia) Rodriguez: daughters, Tomasa Acosta, Isabel (Simon) Gonzalez, Cecilia (Arnulfo) Salazar; ex-daughter-in-law, Maria Moya; 45 grandchildren, 118 great-grandchildren, 122 great-great- grandchildren, 36 great-great-great grandchildren and many step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances. She will be missed for her prayers, blessings and sage advice.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sabino Sanchez; sisters, Leonicia Charlenas and Margarita Ramos; her two husbands; two infant children, Alonso Moya and Elena Moya; daughters, Erlinda Rodriguez and Maximiliana Cancino; son-in-law, Doroteo Rodriguez; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Countless were her prayers for her loved ones and her greatest wish, the only thing she asked in her last days, was that all accept Christ Jesus and live together in unity and love.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29 th , 2021 at Christ's Church, 300 State Street in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
