Marie Weimer Asmus, 96, Life long Ft. Morgan area resident, died Wednesday at the Valley View Villa in Ft. Morgan. She was born November 10, 1913 in Morgan County to Fred G. and Katherine (Reichert) Weimer. She was a cook at the Ft. Morgan High School for several years. She enjoyed the students and her co-workers. She also enjoyed cooking and baking at home making german dishes for her family. She is survived by her daughter Barbara French of Northglenn, her son Ronnie Asmus of Greeley, two sisters Rachel Alderin of Salem, Oregon and Esther Lough of Ft. Morgan, one brother Albert C. Weimer of Ft. Morgan, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jake Asmus Jr. her son Michael Lynn Asmus , her second husband Victor Asmus, her brothers George, Samuel, Jacob, Godfrey, Dave, and Alex Weimer and one sister Lydia Needens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday 5-7 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Christ Congregational Church in Ft. Morgan.
