Marie Eleanor Bailey, 93, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in Fort Morgan, CO. Marie was born May 21, 1914 to John Henry and Fannie G. (Richardson) Meyer. She married Fred C. Bailey on April 9, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They moved to Fort Morgan in 1954. Fred died in 1992. Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Morgan and taught Sunday School there. She was also a member of the American Baptist Women and Church Women United. She was a member of the Stroke Club. Marie volunteered at the Colorado Plains Medical Center and at Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan. Her flower garden and her yard were her joys. Mrs. Bailey is survived by her children, Steven Bailey of Federal Heights, Paul Bailey and Ruth Ann Warboys, and Eleanor Robison, all of Fort Morgan, CO., 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Bailey is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Genevieve Oliver and two great grandchildren, Nicholas Thompson and Tyler Bailey. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at the First Baptist Church at 10:30 AM in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given to the First Baptist Church in Mrs. Bailey's name. Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
