Marilyn Ann Ford passed away Saturday July 17, 2021. Marilyn was born in Harlan, Iowa to Anthony and Rosemary Wingert. She received her nursing degree from St. Mary's in Omaha, Nebraska, and later her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at the University of Phoenix.
Marilyn married Clinton Ford on April 9, 1994 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. They enjoyed eating out, watching movies, and making tied quilts together. She loved to bake and shared her goodies with everyone she cared about, and you were blessed to receive her chocolate chip cookies. She also loved to make quilts and decorate her home. Marilyn liked to make flower arrangements and had once worked in a flower shop. Sports, especially the Denver Broncos was another thing she enjoyed, along with spending time with family and watching events her family and friends were participating in. She enjoyed eating breakfast out and loved the bacon at Home Plate. She was a well- known regular at the Willow Coffee Shop, where she would stop every day to get her favorite spiced chai tea. Marilyn had a soft spot in her heart for dogs, especially her 3 Dobermans and Moses, the dog at Eben Ezer.
Marilyn's nursing career spanned 37 years. During her career she worked at Valley View, did home health care, and worked at Sterling Regional Medical Center. At the time of her passing she was employed at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.
She is survived by her husband Clinton Ford of Brush; Mother Rose Wingert of Avoca, Iowa; brothers Larry Wingert of Avoca, Iowa and John Wingert of Shelby, Iowa; sisters Sue Ellen Mills of LaJunta, CO and Sara Schmit of Fremont, Nebraska. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father Anthony, brother Neil, infant sister Christie, and her grandparents.
A Memorial Service to honor Marilyn will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Brush High School Auditorium at 10:30 AM.
