Obituary

Marjorie Katherine Allen Mangum was born on October 10, 1919 in Holyoke, Colorado. She passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Soldotna, Alaska. She grew up in Hillrose, Colorado, where she lived until she graduated from High School. She married Herman Burrell Mangum on January 25, 1941. They lived in Idaho for many years, then Washington State and retired in Fort Morgan, Colorado. After Herman passed away she went to live with children in Alaska. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Burrell Mangum and their son David; two Son-in-laws, Bob Miller and Gary Gardner; her parents William Milton Allen and Mildred Cox; her Step Father, Adolph Cox; her brothers, Walter Jones and Ernest Jones; and her sister, Doreen Weiss, 2 Step Sisters; Mary Grace White and Charlotte Whiteside; 1 Step Brother, Franklin Cox; 1 grand child, and 1 great grandchild. She is survived by her children Herman William Mangum "Vicki", Betty Gardner, Linda Miller, Omie Murdoch "Gordon", John Mangum "Lavida", Ernest Mangum "Ann", and Monty Mangum "Nancy"; Sister-in-law Sakae Jones; Step sister, Esther Kuskie; 21 Grandchildren, 51 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Great Great Grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. She loved doing genealogy, quilting, crocheting, and embroidery. She was devoted to her family and always made welcome those needing a home and the love she had to offer. The viewing will be at 10:00 A.M. on August 11, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 336 Cherry Street, Fort Morgan. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A. M.
