Marla-Dawn Baker passed away December 2nd 2021 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, CO. Marla was the first born to Marlene and Marvin Baker and entered this world February 13th, 1958 in Sterling, CO. From a young age she was musically inclined and showcased her talents in piano. She attended elementary school and secondary school in Brush, CO. She embraced her school pride as a Pom Pom girl and graduated with the class of 1976.
After graduation, Marla ventured out to California, residing in Santa Monica and worked at the Hollywood Palladium and the Playboy Club. Her exciting and endearing personality paved the way for her. Upon her return to Colorado, she was employed by Barry Fey the well-known rock concert promotor, which allowed her the opportunity to become acquainted with prominent musicians.
Marla aimed high with great ambitions and continued to pursue education and other career paths as well. Marla was a licensed cosmetologist and earned a degree as a pharmacy technician.
When Marla shifted her focus to family her first child Maica Beauxnet was born in 1988 and her natural inner and outer beauty was passed on to her daughter. In 1993 Marla gave birth to her second child Coyote Cache and again some of her best traits were imparted, like her curiosity and wonderment for the world around her.
To sum up the life of someone like Marla who was multi faceted and zealous in her interests and had great variation through her different phases of life can be complicated to do. She will be remembered for her generosity, her boldness, her kindness to animals and plants, and her fascination with the celestial. Those that she confided in and choose to connect with can attest that she was interesting and harnessed a great passion for things that caught her attention. Marla was a creative and lively soul who you would be guaranteed to have thought provoking and adventurous conversations with and would never have to worry about getting bogged down in inconsequential small talk. If you were lucky enough to spend time with her you will have a story to reminisce on for the rest of your life because Marla is memorable.
Marla is survived by her mother, Marlene Baker of Brush, children Maica (Adam) Gardner of Sterling and Coyote Coen of Rose Hill, Kansas. Two sisters, Michelle Dulaney of Loveland, Margo (Jimmy) Kissler of Hillrose, one brother,
Matt (Diane) Baker of Snyder. Grandchildren, Boston and Hudson Gardner.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Marvin Baker.
Funeral services will be Friday December 10
at 2:00 PM at Heer Mortuary in Brush.
