Martha Martin passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan.  She was 91.

Martha was born February 12, 1930 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Berl and Bessie (Merrell) Deen.  Her family later moved to Delaware, Oklahoma.  Martha married Floyd Martin on July 31, 1954 in Nowata.  At that time, she was employed by the Victory National Bank in Nowata and Floyd was employed by the Pure Oil Company.  A few years later, the couple moved to Fort Morgan when Floyd was transferred to the Pure Oil Adena Gas Plant south of Fort Morgan.  Together they raised two children, Kathy and John.  Martha was employed by the City of Fort Morgan for 15 years.

Martha loved her family and enjoyed attending activities of her children and grandchildren.  She was the helping hand that always made things possible.  She loved spending time visiting family and later in life began researching her family genealogy. This research provided many trips to visit extended family members.  She enjoyed cooking, trying new recipes, and hosting family gatherings.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Floyd; her parents; her sister Mary Tipton; and her brother Darrell Deen.  She is survived by her children, John Martin of Fort Morgan, and Kathy (Rodney) Kauk of Brush; three grandchildren, Ryan Kauk and Shawn Kauk of Brush, April (Todd) Egbert of Monument, CO; and two great-grandchildren, Ben and Kate Egbert.

During her last years, Martha lived at the former Beehive Assisted Living and then she moved to Valley View Villa. The family would like to thank all staff that provided care and support for her during that time.

A memorial service will be held for Martha on Thursday, January 20 ^th at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan, with inurnment to follow the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
