MARTIN T. GOEDERT, 97, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 in the emergency room at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. He was born in Adena, CO on December 26, 1916 to Mathias & Mary (Zubrod) Goedert. He attended school until the eighth grade and farmed in Morgan County all of his life until he retired. Martin was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan and the B.P.O.E. (Elks) Lodge #1143. He was also active at the Senior Center in Fort Morgan. Martin is survived by his son, Harold Goedert of Fort Morgan; his grandson, Mark Goedert of Greeley; his granddaughter, Carol Sjerven and her husband, Chris of Centennial; his great grandchildren, Cash Goedert, Mackenzie Sjerven, and Taylor Sjerven. He is also survived by his friend, Bob Dorr (who was like a second son to him) and his wife, Sandra of Colorado City, CO; and their children, Bryan Dorr and Aric Dorr; and their granddaughter, Jordan Dorr. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his silbings, George, Ed, Matt, Carl, Ellen, and Vern. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan on Saturday, March 29th at 10:30 AM. The Rosary will be recited prior to the service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
