Marvin Dale Elwood, 88, lifelong area resident, died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Cheyenne Veterans Administration Hospice in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
He was born June 22, 1929 in Sterling, Colorado to Farren and Mildred (Roys) Elwood.
Marvin married Farice Green on January 2, 1949 in Fort Morgan. Marvin was a Life Member of the local Elks Lodge and had been a member for 63 years.
He was also a member of the Sundowner's Lions Club, and held every office there during his tenure.
Marvin enjoyed traveling and had been in many countries around the world, he made his own wine and grew a lot of his own grapes used in it. He liked to play cards, read, and could memorize poems and writings, some of which were from his time spent in the Navy. He went on Honor Flight recently, and got to meet Vice President Pence.
He loved his family and they were very important to him.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Wohllaib (David) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Myron Elwood (Lori) of Greeley, grandchildren, Alisha Kienlen, Aaron Kienlen, Arielle Kienlen, Annastasia Carlberg (Nick), Abigail Jones (Nathan), Autumn Kienlen, Allison Kielen, and six great grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Farice who died in 2015, brother, Lennard Elwood, and his parents.
Memorial Services will be Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:30 am at the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Serenity Falls.
Memorial Gifts may be made to the United Presbyterian Church.
