Marvin J. Norwood, 87, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at the EbenEzer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. He was born December 1, 1933 at the Norwood residence at the 9 Mile Corner south of Brush to Paul & Pauline Norwood.
Marvin graduated from Brush High School in 1952 and on November 2, 1952, he married the love of his life, Isabelle Bass. They both were looking forward to celebrating their 68 th wedding anniversary on November 2. Together they raised 4 children, Lou Ann, Keith, Janet and Mary Jane.
Marvin was such a loving, hard working man and was always ready to help out his kids and neighbors. He was fortunate to work in two careers that he was passionate about – farming and the Great Western Sugar beet factory as a sugar tramp for 42 years – 1951 – 1994.
Never were you ever around Marvin that he didn't have a joke or story to tell you. His goodbye saying to his family was "See You in the Funnies… if they don't cut you out."
Survivors include his wife, Isabelle; Children: Lou Ann (Allen Walter); Keith (Yajun) Norwood; Janet (Pete) Krohn and Mary Jane (Alan) Teeters; 5 grandchildren, Lori Chabot (David) Holdren, Carmen Chabot (Aaron) Quinlin; Greg Norwood, Jenna Krohn (Jason) Radke, and Halie Krohn (Michael) Deslauriers; 10 great grandchildren, McKenna and Morgan Wright, Riggs Tann, Madelyn Sawyer, Cael Quinlin, Connor, Colten and Colby Deslauriers, Nolan and Luka Radke. Along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren Brent & Fawn Norwood; 4 brothers, Dale, Roy, Harold, and Gordin; and his parents, Pauline and Paul.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 27, 2021 at 11:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush (222 Cameron Street). Services will conclude at the Mortuary.
