Mary Duke, 94, passed away at Valley View Villa, in Fort Morgan on March 19th, 2018. She was born on October 7th, 1923 in De Leon, TX to Russell and Laura Rice.

Mary worked in an accounting office for a peanut factory in De Leon as a young lady. She married Vernon T. Duke on January 2, 1948. They moved to Fort Morgan in 1962 from Aztec, New Mexico. They were married 53 years before his death in 2001.

Mary was an avid fan of the Broncos and Rockies. In her 80's she got to attend a few Rockies games with a close friend and family members. When she was younger she enjoyed working in her garden and canning/freezing her harvest. Her family and friends were very important to her.

Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Verna and Paul Zwilling of Raleigh, NC; her sons and daughters-in-law, Doak and Vicki Duke of Fort Morgan, CO and Gary and Dee Duke of Strasburg, CO; her sister, Ann Baker of Montgomery, TX and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Kyle; two brothers, David and Robert Rice; and a sister, Talma Lightfoot from Texas.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
