Mary
Ehlers
Dec 12, 1946 — Aug 13, 2021
Fort Morgan
Mary Eleanor Ehlers, 74, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021, at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan. She was born December 12, 1946, in Flagler, CO to Glenn & Eleanor Proctor.
Mary was a bright light to those who knew her. Her love of Horses, Travel, Learning, Sports, Friends and Her Family carried her throughout her life. She loved horses and was active as long as possible in horse shows. She was a member of the Colorado Arabian horse club. Mary loved watching and hearing about her grandchildren's band, orchestra, sports or horseshow events. She loved the National Western Stock Show and would take time every year to work the show selling tickets till her heath would not allow it. She loved to travel for vacation or for learning. Mary visited most of the state capitals and could tell you interesting facts about all the states. She took her time to get to places because she would stop and see something new at every opportunity along the way. She loved her country and was very patriotic. She loved all kinds of sports from rodeo to golf, from college to pro. The Broncos and the Yankees were two of her favorite teams. She was a dedicated friend to Carolyn and Peggy from childhood to death.
Most of all Mary loved her family. Charles and Mary celebrated over 54 years of marriage and raised three children. When her children were grown, she loved and cared for her grandchildren. She did what she could to help raise strong independent grand kids. Mary lived her life the way she wanted, and never stopped.
She fought long and hard to stay with her family as long as she could. Mary is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Michelle (Eric) Ehlers–Peterson, Neal (Sara) Ehlers, and Michael (Mechele) Ehlers; her brother, Thomas Proctor; mother, Eleanor Proctor; and six grandchildren, Mia, Alissa, Noah, Mariah, Sydney and Alex. She was preceded in death by one infant sister, Judith Ann, and her father, Glen Proctor.
Our vibrant light, Mary, will always be treasured and remembered.
