Mary E. Eicher, 80, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away Wednesday, March 7, following a lengthy illness. She was born September 23, 1937, in Peoria, IL to Calvin & Jessie Hoar.

The Hoar family moved to Morgan County in the mid-1940's from Peoria, IL. Mary enjoyed reading, sewing, fishing, working in her flower garden, and spending time with her family.   She was a member of the Brush Church of the Nazarene.

On June 7, 1973, Mary married Robert H. Eicher. They continued living in Brush following their marriage.  Bob & Mary enjoyed dancing, especially going to polka dancing events.

Survivors include her children, Bill Dempsey of Fort Collins; Ed Dempsey, Rose (Larry) Spradlin, and Carrie (Jon) Horton all of Brush; 3 step children, Michael Eicher; Jay Eicher of Ozark, MO, and Mae (John) Eskew of Otis, CO; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great - great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Eicher; 2 sons, Chuck Dempsey and Pat Dempsey; 2 brothers, Robert Hoar and Roy Hoar; 2 sisters, Ina May Rucker and Margaret Thompson; and her parents.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Heer Chapel on Monday from 3 – 5 PM.  Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Hospice on the Plains c/o the Heer Mortuary.
