Mary Anna
Mckenzie
May 3, 1950 — Jun 19, 2020
MaryAnn, or Momma, as she was known to most of us, passed away in the East Morgan County Hospital on June 19, 2020 under the watchful eyes of a very kind, caring, and compassionate staff.
Born in May of 1950, Momma lived an incredible 70 years. She is mother to three children; Jim, Josh, and Shani, but was Momma to six more children through marriage and adoption; Tammy, Troy, Donny, Tony, Curt, Melody, Diane, Shawna, and Rickey. She was Grandma to Jade, Daesha, Jordan, Chaz, Asia, Jersey, Monti, and Phoenix, as well as Great Grandma to Aiden.
MaryAnn lived in Fort Morgan, Brush, Wiggins, Canon City, and many small towns amongst the plains of Colorado. She was born under a wandering star, she used to say, so we moved a lot.
"Warm it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" was one of the many things she taught me throughout my life. A fun, loving and kind woman. Though she had an Irish temper, and was quick to discipline any of us, a heart of gold is what stays with me, and shall always remain.
She was born in Golden, CO to Fred & Anna Cooper. She has four sisters, three of whom are still alive; Georgianna, Charlotte, Velma, and Shirley.
An animal and child lover, she always surrounded herself with as many of them as possible, never failing to let them know who Jesus was, and all He had done for them.
Crafting was her passion, and she was a Master at it, making just about everything you can imagine for all of those she loved and were close to her.
She is survived by a loving family who owe her everything. All of our strength, tenacity, courage, and patience, we owe to her, as she taught us all of them.
You will be so dearly missed Momma, and the love you taught us will forever live on. May God & Mary keep you close, as you watch over us all. We Love you. Rest in eternal and blessed peace.
A memorial and Celebration of Life is to be determined.
