Obituary

Mary Lou Miller, 84, died Friday, February 28, 2014, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. She was born October 7, 1929 in Rocky Ford, CO. to Nobel & Dorothy Davis, the oldest of ten children. Mary Lou was raised during the depression years and WWII. At age 17, she married John Claude Turner. They had three children, Latricia Ann, James Troy, and John Claude Jr. They later divorced. On December 27, 1955, Mary Lou married Donald William Miller, and they had a daughter, Catherine Nadeene. The family lived in the Arkansas Valley of Colorado until 1965 when they relocated to the Ben Gay Ranch near Lindon, CO. After the children were grown and having families of their own Mary Lou and Don moved to Brush. Mary Lou was a homemaker, an outstanding cook, and loved to sew, do crafts, and home canning. She never let anything go to waste. Mary Lou loved attending church, going to the church sewing & quilting, and going to family gatherings around the holidays. Survivors include her 4 children, Latricia Perry (Steven) of Woodbridge, VA, James T. Turner of Merino, CO, John C. Turner (Trish) of Brush, and Catherine N. Gantenbein (Rick) of Johnstown, CO; her brother, Daniel Eugene Davis of California; cousins, Cathy Lawton (Larry) of Greeley, CO and Beverly Coons of Santa Rosa, CA; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Miller, 3 brothers, 6 sisters, a step-son, Michael Clayton Miller, and her parents. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
