Mary Alice Preston, 81, of Fort Morgan, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 7, 2016 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush.

She was born April 8, 1934 in Long Beach, CA to Lloyd & Mary Alice (Frazer) Johnson. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Preston, on August 22, 1954 in Fort Morgan. Tom and Mary purchased Nate White Printing Co. in Fort Morgan in 1975 and changed its name to Preston Printing. They ran the business together until Tom's death in 1994. Mary continued the business for several years thereafter until her retirement.

Mary was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Fort Morgan, PEO, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Star Club. She enjoyed studying her family genealogy, reading, and attending her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities.

She is survived by five children, Valerie Schantz of Fort Morgan, Pamela (Dave) Arndt of Weldona, Beth (Tim) Carpenter, and Jeff (Deb) Preston, all of Fort Morgan, and Greg (Karen) Preston of Longmont. She is also survived by her brother, Lloyd David (Millie) Johnson of Eaton; 13 grandchildren, Kimberlee Kate (Eric) Hanagan, Angela Mary (Josh) Sneddon, David Americo (Sarah) Arndt, Levi Edward (Molly) Arndt, Jacob Wayne Schantz, Samuel Aaron (Bobbi) Schantz, Thomas Paul (Sarah) Preston, Maria Christine (Shane) Preston, Nicholas Gregory (Terra) Preston, Eric Edwin Preston, Zachary Preston Carpenter, and Jay Thomas Carpenter, along with 21 great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and her daughter, Kimberly Ann Preston.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, January 12th at 11:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church, 1300 East Riverview Ave., in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan. Visitation will be at the church, prior to the service from 9 – 11 AM.
