Mary Lou Reck, 81, longtime resident of Morgan County, died Saturday evening at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. Mrs. Reck was born February 5, 1928, in Denver, CO, to Roy and Mabel Chapman. Mrs. Reck attended Whittier School and graduated from Brighton High School and attended Denver University. She married George Reck November 3, 1946, in Denver. They farmed near Hoyt until they retired in 1976 and moved to Fort Morgan. In addition to being a housewife, she was a bookkeeper and secretary for 35 years at the American Hog Company and Littjohann and Peterson, CPA. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Tops, and Silver Notes Band. Her family was her life; she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed going to all of the family activities. Survivors include her daughter Rosemary Zipperer of Parker; two sons Douglas Reck, and Marc Reck of Sterling; three brothers James Chapman of Grand Junction, CO, Jack Chapman of Bellflower, CA, Jerry Chapman of Castle Rock, CO; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband George Reck, and her parents. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. Graveside services immediately following at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
