MARY LOU ROCHA, 73, of Brush, died Wednesday afternoon, October 21, 2009 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley after a brief illness. She was born February 26, 1936 in Platteville, CO to Ray J. & Erma (Lopez) Montoya. She was an ancestor of one of the oldest families to settle in San Luis Valley. She attended Catholic school in Walsenburg, CO. She married William Rocha in Alamosa, CO on June 15, 1963. They moved to Brush from Sterling in 1962. Mrs. Rocha was a cook for Eben Ezer in Brush and Meet & Eat for a number of years. Mrs. Rocha was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. She enjoyed watching soap operas, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. She was an avid Broncos and Rockies fan. Mrs. Rocha is survived by her husband William Rocha of Brush; her daughters, Patricia Marie Rodriquez of Brush and Debbie Ann Morison of Pueblo; her son, Allen Ray Rocha of Sterling; five sisters, Mary Ann Romero and Beverly Montoya, both of Denver, Viola Vigil and Margaret Weaver, both of Alamosa, and Doris Garcia of Cheyenne, WY; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death her parents; her sister, Gerry Montoya; her brother, Ray Montoya Jr.; and her son, Billy Rocha. Visitation will be Monday, October 26th from 2 – 6 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 27th at 10:30 AM at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Saint Mary's Church, 340 Stanford Street, Brush, CO 80723.
