Mary Rosario Rodarte, 83, of Ft. Morgan, died Monday, June 6, 2011 in Greeley. She was born January 22, 1928 in La Cueva, New Mexico to John and Eusebia (Sandoval) Martinez. She married Napoleon Rodarte on May 31, 1974 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He died February 28, 2010. Mary was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. She loved her grandchildren and they were very important to her. She enjoyed crusing around town when they would come in to do some shopping. She also liked animals. She and her husband raised chickens and goats and they always seemed to have a dog too. Survivors include, three daughters, Esther Nobel of Grand Junction, Grace Ortiz of Ft. Morgan, and Sharon Ramirez of Ft. Morgan, two sons, Paul Mares of Julesburg, and James Mares of Greeley, five sisters, Jennie Benevides of Hayword, CA, Ambrosita Romero of Wiggins, Delubina Martinez of Salt Lake City, Utah, Rafe Rangel of Log Lane Village and Trudy Furtaw of Ft. Morgan, 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Napoleon, her daughter Gloria Lujan, her grandson, Aaron Lujan, brothers, Margarito, Cresencio, Paul and Louis Martinez and sisters, Nora Dovey and Dora Litig. There will be a visitation on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 2 until 6 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. A Rosary Vigil will begin at 6:00 pm also on Thursday at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10:30 am at the St. Helen Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens.
