Obituary

Mary Violet Seely, 52, former local resident, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. Mary was born September 30, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas to Jerry and Betty (Orcutt) McGilvray. She married Allen L. Seely on October 7, 1978 in Cripple Creek, Colorado. Seely moved to Morgan County in the late 1980's from Morrison but had spent the last three years living in Sterling. Mary was active in 4 H at both the county and state levels in the shooting events and knew kids all over the state from these events. She was also a member of the Prairie Lions Club and had been superintendant of the State Fair. Mary enjoyed fishing, camping, Celtic events and horses. Survivors include her husband Al, of Sterling, two sons, Jerald Seely of Norfolk, Virginia and Wade Seely of Thornton, one brother, Mike McGilvray of Hermitage, Missouri, one sister, Jerrilynn Reeves of Wabolo, Missouri and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial Services will be Friday, March 7, 2008 at 1:30 PM at the Morgan Church of the Nazarene in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the Church. Memorial Gifts may be made in Mary's name in care of the Heer Mortuary in Brush. Cremation arrangements by the Heer Mortuary and Crematory in Brush.
