Mary V. Underwood, 85, longtime Brush resident, passed away Wednesday evening, January 24, 2007, at her home. She was born April 14, 1921, in Valley Center, KS, to Harvey & Claytie Henricks. She married Roger Underwood March 11, 1969 in Brush. She worked as a waitress for the Tuts Café, the Crains Café and also for the Quirt Restaurant at the Carrol Hotel . She enjoyed canning vegetables, growing flowers and being with her family and her dog Molly. She is survived by her children Barb Schippert of Snyder, Lewis Gentry, and Don Gentry both of Ft. Morgan, Elbert Gentry and Deb Vondy both of Brush, Red Gentry of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Dan Gentry of Santa Rosa, California, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger, 1 sister Marchia Jones, 2 brothers Durwood Henricks, and Virgil Henricks, and her parents. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush, Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
