Matt U. Hirsch, 59, passed away Friday evening, July 20, 2012, at his residence in Brush following a lengthy illness. He was born May 11, 1953, in Marktredwitz, Bavaria, Germany, to Martin & Katharina Hirsch. Matt loved to help other people; he frequently mowed all the neighbors' yards. He was an active volunteer with political happenings, and enjoyed working with his weather station. He and his wife had a retail internet business that they operated from their home. They have lived in Brush for the past 6 years. Survivors include his wife, Wendy Smith of Brush; his Mother, Katharina Hirsch of German; 2 sons David & Yannick of Germany; 2 sisters, Marianne (Nina) and Sibylle Rothkegel and 2 brothers, Michael and Thomas all of Germany. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 10:30 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Brush. The service will conclude at the Mortuary.
